Zendrop vs Spocket: Which Dropshipping App Is Better? [2024]

By
Gemma Henry

If you're looking for a dropshipping supplier platform to work with, taking the time to research your options is paramount. Be it product discovery, costings, shipping times, etc., it’s essential to be as well-informed as possible when weighing your options.

That's why, in this review, we're comparing Spocket with Zendrop to help you decide which dropshipping directory comes out on top.

There's lots to cover, so let's dive straight in!

Zendrop Overview

As hinted at in the intro, Zendrop is a dropshipping directory app with 100,000+ users. It connects users with dropshipping suppliers who collectively sell over a million products.

It’s free to sign up. However, you need to connect your eCommerce store before you can view Zendrop's product catalog.

Paid subscribers can access over 500,000 products sourced from the US, with other products available via AliExpress import (also only available to paid subscribers).

Zendrop users seem happy with the service they’re receiving, with the dropshipping service scoring 4.8 out of five stars on Trustpilot.

Spocket Overview

Spocket is a well-reviewed dropshipping supplier directory, scoring an average of 4.7 out of five stars from almost 4,700 users on Shopify’s App Store. It boasts around 800,000 product listings, and roughly 100,000 active retailers have registered to the platform.

Unlike Zendrop, you don’t have to connect your eCommerce store to view its product catalog; you just need to create a free account.

Spocket primarily gives eCommerce businesses access to US and EU suppliers offering products across several categories. That said, they also provide access to dropshipping products produced all around the globe via AliExpress and Alibaba.

Spocket vs Zendrop: Quick Comparison

Zendrop vs. Spocket: Products on Marketplace

Zendrop

As mentioned above, you can view Zendrop’s product catalog from your Zendrop dashboard once you’ve signed up for a free plan (or a free trial of a paid plan) and linked your eCommerce store.

Zendrop’s products are categorized by art, beauty, computers, home goods, lights, office supplies, and more. You can filter products by shipping location (US or China) and by Zendrop’s list of suppliers, of which there are 19.

When you click on a product, you can see the product’s image, description, shipping price per country, and product price.

Spocket

Unlike Zendrop, you don’t have to link your eCommerce store to view its product catalog; just sign up for free to view products from your Spocket dashboard.

As we’ve already alluded to, Spocket’s dropshipping products are also organized into categories, including toys, clothing, pet accessories, tech accessories, sports and outdoors, bags, and many more.

You can filter products according to the following:

  • Where they’re shipped from and to
  • Shipping times (1-3 days, 4-7 days, 8-14 days, or 15+ days)
  • Shipping prices
  • Bestsellers (top-performing products on Spocket)
  • Premium products (highly discounted and fast shipping products).

When you click on a product, you’ll see the supplier’s name, order processing time, where it ships from, product description and image, the supplier’s return policy, manufacturing price, and a suggested retail price.

Zendrop vs. Spocket: Product Importation

When adding dropshipping products to your eCommerce store, it’s crucial the process is neither cumbersome nor lengthy, so let’s see what Zendrop and Spocket do to make product importation as seamless as possible:

Zendrop

When you find a product you want to sell, click the “add to import list” button on the product page.

Then, once you’re ready to add products to your store, click “My Products” in your dashboard.

You can then review each product individually and publish them to your store. Unfortunately, you can’t do that in bulk.

Spocket

Importing products from Spocket to your online store works similarly to Zendrop.

Here’s how it works:

From your Spocket dashboard, find products you want to sell. Then, click the “add to import list” button on the product page.

Once you’re ready, you can view all the products you’ve added to your import list, and if you’re happy, click “Push to store” to add them to your online shop in bulk.

Zendrop vs. Spocket: Retail Suppliers

Zendrop

When filtering through Zendrop’s dropshipping products, you can view suppliers via a drop-down menu in your dashboard. You can't, however, see any information about individual suppliers other than a flag icon to indicate which country they’re located in. We also couldn’t find any information about Zendrop’s supplier vetting process (despite asking customer support for more details).

Spocket

As alluded to, one of Spocket’s main USPs is that most of its suppliers are based in the EU and US. You can look for said suppliers using the product filter.

On each product page, you can see who the supplier is. Just click on their name to view their:

  • Order fulfillment success rate
  • Average fulfillment time
  • When they joined Spocket
  • Where they ship from

If you’re on the Pro, Empire, or Unicorn plan (more about these pricing packages below), you can communicate with suppliers directly. Just click the “supplier chat” link in your dashboard to start a conversation. Unfortunately, this isn’t something Zendrop offers.

It’s also worth noting that Spocket’s suppliers are stringently vetted. For instance, for a vendor to be able to partner with Spocket, it has to:

  • Not use third-party warehouses.
  • Produce high-quality products
  • Offer discounts on their regular retail prices to help Spocket dropshippers turn a profit.
  • Offer quick order processing and shipping.

Zendrop vs Spocket: Supplier Price and Stock Updates

Zendrop

Zendrop will send you an email in case of a price change, but unfortunately, there’s no such provision for stock updates.

Spocket

Spocket users are notified within their dashboards when a Spocket supplier changes their pricing. Spocket also provides a guide that walks you through changing your store’s prices.

When a supplier’s inventory levels change, this is automatically updated in real-time within your Spocket dashboard. You can even see color-coded inventory levels within your Spocket dashboard to help you keep track.

Also, for Shopify users, inventory is auto-synced with Spocket, which helps ensure customers don’t order products when your supplier’s out of stock. Handy, right?

Zendrop vs. Spocket: Automated AliExpress Orders

AliExpress provides access to more than 100 million dropshipping products to sell. So, how does it work with Zendrop and Spocket?

Zendrop

You can see the AliExpress product import option on the left-hand menu of its dashboard. You’ll also see an “Import from AliExpress” button appear when you conduct a product search, and Zendrop doesn’t have what you’re looking for.

However, you can only import products from AliExpress if you’re on a paid plan. If you are, and you click on the button, you’ll be taken to AliExpress. Now, you can find the product you want, copy the product link, and paste it into Zendrop. The product is then auto-imported to Zendrop, from which you can upload to your store.

Unfortunately, Zendrop doesn’t appear to offer a way to automate the importation of AliExpress products into your dashboard.

Please note: Zendrop states, "While we use AliExpress to import product information, we do not work with any AliExpress sellers.”

Spocket

With Spocket, importing products from AliExpress works differently.

Spocket seamlessly integrates with AliExpress, giving you access to all its products, and has a tool called AliScraper. This automates the product import process and allows you to import AliExpress products onto your eCommerce store in bulk.

Best of all, it’s included with your Spocket subscription, so you don’t have to pay extra for it! You just have to download the AliScraper Chrome Extension to start importing products with just a click, including AliExpress product photos.

Zendrop vs. Spocket: Integrations

Before you commit to working with a dropshipping supplier platform, ensure they integrate with your eCommerce platform of choice. With that said, let’s take a peek at the solutions both Zendrop and Spocket integrate with:

Zendrop integrates with:

  • Shopify
  • Commerce HQ

Spocket, on the other hand, boasts a much longer list of native integrations:

  • Shopify
  • Ecwid
  • Wix
  • Square
  • BigCommerce
  • WooCommerce
  • Felex
  • Squarespace
  • Alibaba
  • AliExpress

These lists don’t cover marketplace integrations (we cover these below).

Zendrop vs. Spocket: Additional Supported Marketplaces for Selling

Building on what we’ve just said in the above section, let’s look at what Zendrop and Spocket offer online marketplace sellers:

Zendrop

For Zendrop users, there are no direct integrations. However, its help center tells us you can “pull orders” from Amazon into Shopify using apps from the Shopify App Store. Zendrop recommends the Amazon by Codisto app, which also enables you to sell on eBay, Google Shopping, and Walmart.

Spocket

In contrast, Spocket provides native integrations for Amazon and eBay. In addition, you can advertise your products on Pinterest, Instagram, and YouTube.

That said, it’s worth noting that Spocket doesn’t allow retailers to sell products on third-party marketplaces, which include:

  • Etsy
  • Wish
  • Groupon
  • Facebook Marketplace
  • Google Shopping

If retailers do this, Spocket reserves the right to remove that seller’s Spocket account.

Zendrop vs. Spocket: Bulk Actions

No dropshipping entrepreneur wants to spend hours managing their store. That’s why your chosen dropshipping platform should have processes in place to speed up routine tasks.

With Zendrop, you can do the following:

  • Bulk inventory orders: You can order product inventory in bulk to Zendrop’s US warehouses to reduce shipping times to 2-5 days (Only available on their enterprise-level pricing plan).
  • Bulk fulfillment: From your Zendrop dashboard, you can click on the orders you want to fulfill to fulfill them in bulk.
  • Auto fulfillment: Building on the above, paid subscribers can turn on “auto-fulfillment” so that instead of manually fulfilling orders, they’re fulfilled automatically as orders come in.

Now, let’s take a look at Spocket. Spocket users can perform the following bulk actions:

  • Bulk checkout orders: Unicorn plan subscribers can pay for unpaid orders in bulk.
  • Bulk edit retail prices: Shopify store owners can increase and decrease their product prices in bulk.
  • Bulk import from AliExpress: With just a click, you can import hundreds of products from AliExpress to your eCommerce store using the AliScraper Chrome Extension tool.
  • Publish products in bulk: You can publish items to your store in bulk.
  • Import tracking numbers in bulk: Use Spocket’s ‘Import Tracking Number’ functionality to upload tracking numbers for multiple orders via a CSV upload.

Zendrop vs. Spocket: Branding

Zendrop

Zendrop offers custom branding to its paid customers in the form of thank-you cards that you can design.

As well as that, users on Zendrop’s volume seller program, Zendrop Select, also benefit from private labeling and custom packaging.

Spocket

Spocket’s products are sent to your customers in brand-free, neutral packaging.

  • Plus: 7-day free trial, and then $79/month or $549/year for all the above and access to the trending product finder and other additional features listed in the screenshot below.

There’s also a separate plan called Zendrop Select. This custom price package for high-volume sellers includes all the above and assistance with brand development, custom packaging, price negotiation with suppliers on your behalf, and more.

Spocket
