CJDropshipping vs Spocket: Which Dropshipping App Is Better? [Revealed]

By
Gemma Henry

CJDropshipping vs Spocket

As you likely know, CJDropshipping and Spocket are dropshipping product apps.

Like most dropshipping apps, there are similarities and differences between the two, and knowing what these are will give you a better sense of which is better for your venture.

With that said, we're comparing CJDropshipping and Spocket to help you get a sense of which comes out on top.

There's lots to sink our teeth into, so let's get into it!

CJDropshipping: Overview

Some parts of CJDropshipping’s website state it was set up in 2000, while others say it launched in 2014...so the jury's out on that one. That said, CJDropshipping works with a wide range of dropshipping suppliers and has 25 warehouses across China, the US, Southeast Asia, and Europe.

It integrates with a range (14) of eCommerce platforms, including WooCommerce, Shopify, BigCommerce, eBay, and AliExpress.

Spocket: Overview

Spocket’s CEO, Saba Mohebpour, was featured on the highly coveted Forbes “30 Under 30” list! How cool is that?

Spocket aims to connect users with tons of dropshipping suppliers, all of which have been rigorously vetted. Its focus is providing access to high-quality US and EU products. However, its integration with AliExpress and Alibaba means you can source products worldwide.

Spocket integrates with several major eCommerce platforms and marketplaces, including Shopify, BigCommerce, Ecwid, Wix, and Amazon.

CJDropshipping vs Spocket: Quick Comparison

CJDropshipping vs Spocket: Products on Marketplace

CJDropshipping

CJDropshipping offers hundreds of thousands of dropshipping products and has a pretty decent selection of print-on-demand products, too!

Its catalog is organized into a broad range of categories and subcategories, including jewelry, computer and office, health, beauty, and hair, home improvements, apparel, and many more.

When exploring CJDropshipping’s product catalog, you can use various filters, including price, warehouse location, and free shipping.

When you click on a product, you’ll see:

  • The product price
  • The recommended retail price
  • Color options
  • The shipping fee
  • The service fee (labor costs, i.e., quality inspection, packing, dispatch, etc).
  • The estimated processing time
  • Product attributes
  • The material the product is made out of
  • Product description
  • Product image(s)
  • The name of the supplier and various five-star ratings for ‘Item as Described,’ ‘Service,’ and Shipping Speed
  • Which warehouse the product ships from

You can also contact the supplier for the product page.

But, unlike Spocket, CJDropshipping doesn’t vet its suppliers. But, they do conduct a quality check before products leave the warehouse.

Spocket

At the time of writing, Spocket has approximately 800,000 product listings that you can browse through by creating a free account.

Its products are split into categories like toys, clothing, pet accessories, tech accessories, sports and outdoors, bags, and many more.

You can filter inventory using the following parameters:

  • Where products are shipped from and to
  • Shipping times (1-3 days, 4-7 days, 8-14 days, or 15+ days)
  • Shipping costs
  • Bestsellers (top-performing products)
  • Premium products (highly discounted and fast shipping products).

When you click on a product, you’ll see:

  • The supplier’s name
  • The average order processing time
  • Product variations
  • A button from which you can order samples
  • Where it ships from
  • The product description
  • The product images
  • The returns policy
  • The manufacturing price (I.e., the cost you’ll pay)
  • A suggested retail price (I.e., the price you could the item for)

CJDropshipping vs. Spocket: Product Importation

CJDropshipping

With CJDropshipping, provided you’re using an eCommerce platform it integrates with, it’s pretty easy to import products from individual product pages to your online store.

Select the eCommerce platform you’re using from the dropdown menu to the right of the screen. Then click the ‘List’ button to add products to your store.

Once done, you go through a series of choices about which shipping method, which warehouse you want products shipped from, which images you wish to upload, and so on.

Alternatively, you can push multiple products to your store in bulk. You’ll have to click the ‘queue’ option, followed by ‘add products.’ Then, when you find a product you want to add to your queue, select ‘+Add to queue.’

When you’re finished adding products, head back to your queue. From here, you can either list the product on your eCommerce store straight away or edit the products in bulk - the choice is yours!

Spocket

Here’s how product importation works for Spocket users:

Click on the product you want to sell. Then, click the “add to import list” button.

Once you’ve finished adding products to your import list, you can edit the details of each product ready for publishing on your eCommerce store. For example, the product name, tags, category, description, images, etc.

When you’re ready to publish these products on your store, click “Push to store.”

CJDropshipping vs. Spocket: Retail Suppliers

CJDropshipping

CJDropshipping’s suppliers are based in China and around the world. It also has premium suppliers you can access if you subscribe to one of its paid plans. However, it’s not immediately obvious who those suppliers are and what makes the “premium.”

When I contacted their customer support team via Whatsapp to ask for more info, they responded: “good products, i think,” which, needless to say, wasn’t very helpful.

As mentioned above, on each product page, you’ll also see the supplier's name, where they ship from, and a rating for whether their item was as described, service, and shipping speed. There’s also a “contact supplier” button on the product page.

Spocket

As we’ve alluded to, Spocket’s suppliers are predominantly in the US and EU. When searching for products, you can filter for US/EU products. Alternatively, you can click on the AliExpress option to source products from around the world, including China.

When you click on a product page, you’ll see who the product’s supplier is. You can click on their name to see when they joined Spocket, their order fulfillment success rate, where they ship from, and their average order fulfillment time.

If you are on the Pro, Empire, and Unicorn plans, you can click the “supplier chat” link in your dashboard to directly communicate with Spocket suppliers.

As we’ve alluded to, Spocket’s suppliers are stringently vetted. For instance, all Spocket suppliers must:

  • Use their own warehouses.
  • Produce high-quality products
  • Offer discounted prices to Spocket users
  • Offer efficient order processing and shipping

Aside from the aforementioned eCommerce platforms, dropshippers can also use CJDropshipping and Spocket to sell on marketplaces.

CJDropshipping

CJDropshipping integrates with eBay and Etsy.

Spocket

Spocket, on the other hand, integrates with Amazon and eBay. In addition, you can advertise your products on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and YouTube.

That said, it’s worth stressing that Spocket retailers aren’t permitted to sell products on third-party marketplaces, including:

  • Etsy
  • Wish
  • Groupon
  • Facebook Marketplace
  • Google Shopping

If retailers do this, Spocket reserves the right to deactivate the retailer’s Spocket account.

CJDropshipping vs. Spocket: Bulk Actions

CJDropshipping offers a range of bulk actions:

  • Bulk listing: Available for Shopify, WooCommerce, and TikTok sellers, you can list products to your store in bulk. You can also modify the selling price in bulk using the “bulk editing” button.
  • Bulk modify shipping: You can use this for orders going to the same shipping destination from the same warehouse.
  • Bulk order products: Place a wholesale order

Spocket also offers a range of bulk actions:

CJDropshipping vs Spocket: Supplier Price and Stock Updates

CJDropshipping

CJDropshipping works with AutoDS, which auto-scans products from CJDropshipping suppliers every 60 minutes. According to the CJDropshipping website, this is the “fastest scan option on the market.” It monitors changes in stock and product prices, and if changes are detected, AutoDS updates your store automatically.

Please note: There’s an additional cost for using this platform.

Spocket

When a Spocket supplier tweaks their pricing, you'll receive a notification in your Spocket dashboard. At the time of writing, product price alterations don't automatically update on your eCommerce store. That said, Spocket has a guide that walks you through how to modify prices in your store.

As for inventory levels, when a supplier’s stock count changes, your Shopify store automatically updates in real time.

Also, inventory levels are color-coded in your Spocket dashboard to help you track what’s available.

CJDropshipping vs. Spocket: Branding

CJDropshipping

CJDropshipping offers both generic, brand-neutral packaging and customizable packaging.

You can choose from various packaging types: paper bags (for t-shirts), cards, cartons, plastic stickers, cloth bags, etc.

Spocket

CJDropshipping vs. Spocket: AliExpress

CJDropshipping

At the time of writing, we couldn’t find any information about how CJDropshipping and AliExpress work together. When I WhatsApped their customer service asking for more info, they said: ‘You can list CJ products to your aliexpress store.’

Spocket

In contrast, Spocket users get access to a tool called AliScraper. This enables you to import AliExpress products to your eCommerce store in bulk with just a click. AliScraper is included in all Spocket plans. You just have to download the AliScraper Chrome Extension to hit the ground running.
