As you might already know, AutoDS and Spocket are both dropshipping platforms.
They partner with thousands of dropshipping suppliers to help eCommerce store owners find products to sell.
Both solutions have a few things in common, but they also have standout differences.
Suppose you're in the midst of picking a dropshipping platform and considering either AutoDS or Spocket as contenders. In that case, you're in the right place.
Below, we compare the two to help you decide which best meets your business's needs.
There's lots to cover, so let's dive in!
Used by 87,000+ entrepreneurs, AutoDS offers over 500 million products from US, EU, and China-based suppliers.
It’s a dropshipping automation tool that helps you:
...and more.
AutoDS integrates with a mix of eCommerce platforms, online marketplaces, and social media networks, including Shopify, Etsy, Facebook, and Amazon.
However, to browse its product marketplace, you have to sign up for one of its paid plans (see below for prices). AutoDS offered a 14-day trial for $1 at the time of writing.
Please note: You're responsible for canceling the trial before it expires; otherwise, you're automatically upgraded to a paid plan.
As alluded to, Spocket is also a dropshipping platform. It provides users (of which there are around 100,000!) access to thousands of dropshipping suppliers who, collectively, sell hundreds of thousands of products (approximately 800,000!)
However, what sets Spocket apart is its focus on US and EU suppliers, who provide the majority of Spocket’s dropshipping products. Products fall into several categories, including apparel, home and garden, jewelry and watches, bags and wallets, bath and beauty, and many, many more.
That said, although Spocket primarily promotes its US and EU products and suppliers, you can also access products from China and the rest of the world via AliExpress (more on that below).
Thanks to Spocket's native integrations, it’s easily used in tandem with a range of reputable eCommerce platforms and online marketplaces, including the likes of Shopify, BigCommerce, Amazon, AliExpress, and Wix.
You can’t access AutoDS’s marketplace without providing your card details. It’s also worth noting that a 14-day trial costs $1, which seems a bit cheeky, considering most dropshipping SaaSs offer a freemium account or at least a free trial.
However, once you’ve signed up, you can use AutoDS’s product finder to look for products. Unlike traditional product filters, you can tell it:
Then, with this information, AutoDS finds products for you.
On top of that, you can also filter product searches by best sellers, specific product categories, and product types.
Where product categories are concerned, AutoDS’s blog suggests various niches, including wellness, car accessories, furniture, pet supplies, and baby supplies.
In contrast to AutoDS, with Spocket, you don’t have to pay a penny to create a free account. This enables you to browse Spocket’s extensive product catalog (and entitles you to 24/7 chat support and AliExpress dropshipping).
Spocket’s wares are organized into categories, including those mentioned above and pets, sports and outdoors, tech accessories, toys, footwear, and many more.
It’s simple to filter Spocket’s products not only by category but also by shipping times and prices, best sellers, suppliers known for their high-quality products, and where products are shipped from and to.
For more product details, click on a product to see its images, fuller description, the supplier’s name and location, return policy, listing and retail prices, order processing time, and where it ships from.
Spocket also makes ordering sample products super easy. From the product listing click ‘order samples’ - (you can process up to five samples per order). Now, follow the on-screen instructions. Simple, right? Some suppliers even advertise discounts on their samples, so watch for that!
Once you’ve chosen the products you wish to sell, it’s time to import them to your eCommerce store or your preferred online marketplace.
The last thing you need is a complex importation process, so let’s see what AutoDS and Spocket do to make this as smooth as possible:
AutoDS boasts a 1-click product importer tool. As its name suggests, you use this to import products to your stores from AutoDS suppliers.
You can copy and paste the product’s URL or item ID into the product importer. Then, with this info, AutoDS can import the product information to your store.
You can also decide when to import products to your store. I.e., you can either do it immediately or schedule an import for a later date and time.
On top of that, AutoDS can automatically optimize your product listings - for example:
You can also use AutoDS’s AI Rewrite tool, which allows you to set your preferred tone of voice to generate product titles and descriptions.
For Spocket users, this is how product importation works:
It’s also worth noting: Before publishing Spocket’s products live to your store, you can edit product details. Hence, they appear exactly how you wish on your eCommerce website. For example, you can edit the product’s name (for SEO), tags, category, collection(s), description, images, and variants.
Spocket has also partnered with ‘AI Pro: AI Blog/SEO Optimizer.’ So if you wish, you can opt for AI to auto-generate product titles and descriptions for you.
Now we’ve looked at AutoDS and Spocket’s products in some detail, let’s turn our attention to their suppliers:
AutoDS has warehouses in China, the US, the UK, Germany, France, Australia, Spain, Canada, Italy, Russia, Belgium, Poland, and the Czech Republic. You can filter suppliers by their warehouse location and name.
It’s also worth mentioning that AutoDS partners with a few notable suppliers, including:
AutoDS also works with what they call “unique private suppliers” - I.e., suppliers that only partner with AutoDS to help you get a competitive edge.
AutoDS doesn’t accept just any supplier onto its books. Instead, it has a list of requirements suppliers must meet:
AutoDS users can contact suppliers via individual product pages. Just click the “message this supplier” button. Alternatively, you can contact suppliers via the orders page on your dashboard.
On top of that, AutoDS also offers product sourcing. I.e., you can send their team an image or a link to the product you wish to sell, and they’ll source it for you. You can then store it in their warehouses (for a fee) and ship it directly to customers when orders come rolling in.
As we’ve already mentioned, Spocket has relationships with thousands of suppliers, most of which are US and EU-based. But, on top of that, Spocket partners with AliExpress, enabling you to reach hundreds of thousands of suppliers further afield (more on this below).
Some of Spocket’s most noteworthy suppliers include names like:
You can find out more info about suppliers from the convenience of Spocket’s product catalog.
For example, you can filter products by supplier name. Also, when you click on specific product listings, you’ll see the supplier's name and a flag demonstrating where they’re based.
You can then click the supplier’s name. This will reveal their:
Spocket also boasts a stringent supplier vetting process. As such, dropshipping suppliers only stand a chance of getting onto Spocket’s network if:
Lastly, it’s worth highlighting that Spocket customers on the Pro, Empire, and Unicorn plans can chat directly with suppliers for order-related queries.
We mentioned integrations earlier on, so let’s take a closer look at the native integrations AutoDS and Spocket offer:
AutoDS offers the following integrations:
For Spocket, the following integrations are available:
Marketplace integrations aren’t included in the above lists as we go into those in more detail below:
Now we’ve looked at AutoDS’s and Spocket’s integrations more generally; which online marketplaces do the two dropshipping platforms support?
AutoDS integrates with Facebook Marketplace, Etsy, Amazon, and eBay.
Spocket, on the other hand, integrates with Amazon and eBay. In addition, you can advertise your products on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube.
That said, it’s worth remembering that Spocket retailers aren’t allowed to sell products on third-party marketplaces, which include:
If retailers do this, Spocket reserves the right to deactivate their Spocket account.
Executing multiple functions in bulk is a game-changer for saving valuable time. With that said, let’s take a look at what AutoDS and Spocket offer in this arena:
AutoDS offers automated price and stock monitoring. I.e., if one of their suppliers updates their product pricing or stock levels, this is reflected on your online store.
Spocket users are notified in their dashboard if a supplier modifies their pricing.
Where inventory is concerned, when a supplier’s stock levels change, your Shopify store is automatically updated in real time.
To help you track stock, inventory levels are also color-coded in your Spocket dashboard.
You can have thank you cards with your logo printed on them. These can be inserted into your packages. However, not all suppliers offer this service.
Spocket products come in neutral packaging with no marketing materials from the supplier permitted.
However, some items like apparel may come with branded tags from the manufacturer, which offers customers peace of mind that their products are new.
Both AutoDS and Spocket integrate with AliExpress to provide access to millions of Chinese dropshipping products.
To integrate your AutoDS account with AliExpress, you must add AliExpress as a buyer’s account within your AutoDS dashboard. A handy article on AutoDS’s Help Center walks you through the process. As you’ll see, there are a few settings you’ll have to configure (unfortunately, we don’t have time to get into them all in this review).
As for Spocket users, they have access to Spocket’s AliScraper tool, which you can download as a Google Chrome extension.
This empowers you to import AliExpress products in bulk to your eCommerce store with just a click (including product photos and reviews).
AliExpress works with BigCommerce, Shopify, Wix and WooCommerce.
But, best of all, this tool is free!
Before wrapping up this AutoDS vs. Spocket comparison, let’s zone in on how AutoDS and Spocket compare on price:
AutoDS’s price plans depend on which eCommerce platform or marketplace you sell on.
In each case, prices differ. However, each set has four plans based on the monthly number of products you want to import. There’s also a 14-day trial of the first three plans (as listed below) for $1.
Prices below are for eBay sellers:
Other pricing examples are as follows:
In addition, regardless of which platform you plan to sell on, you have to pay extra for the following add-ons:
Spocket has four plans. All paid plans boast a free 14-day trial. Subscriptions can be paid monthly or annually for the Pro, Empire, and Unicorn plans.
Subscription costs are as follows:
Now, you’ve come to the end of our review. Hopefully, you’ll agree that Spocket has a slight edge - namely, because users get access to thousands of heavily vetted EU and US suppliers. But, should you wish, you can also expand your reach with Spocket’s intuitive AliScraper tool.
Not to mention, Spocket’s pricing is much more straightforward to understand, and there’s a free 14-day trial with no credit card needed.
If you want to explore Spocket, you can sign up for free. Enjoy!
